Dr Hannah Seymour

Dr Hannah Seymour is a Consultant Geriatrician at the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group. Hannah has worked in Acute Orthogeriatrics at Fiona Stanley Hospital since 2015 where she shares the care of older people with orthopaedic surgeons. Hannah is passionate about using data to improve the care of older people with fractures across the world by working on the Steering Committee of the ANZ Hip Fracture Registry and as President Elect of the Fragility Fracture Network. She has presented internationally on the care of older people with fractures. Hannah has held a number of leadership positions in Western Australia including the Falls and Aged Care Lead in the Department of Health, Leadership of the Four Hour Rule Program at Royal Perth Hospital and Clinical Commissioning Lead and Medical Director at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group. Recently she was Clinical Nominee on the Sustainable Health Review which was published in April 2019. Hannah is also the current Medical lead of the Electronic Medical record Program in WA to ensure she doesn’t get bored!

Dr Nick Martin

Dr Nick Martin is an Emergency Physician at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He has been actively engaged in the promotion of wellbeing for doctors through his roles in Post Graduate Medical Education, the Wellbeing and Staff Support Activities and Programs (WaSSAaP) group, and the state-wide Doctors Wellbeing Interest Group. Through his own practice he has come to understand the transformative benefits of mindfulness and has run multiple mindfulness courses for junior doctors. He has undertaken Mindfulness Facilitator Training through the Institute of Health Leadership under Prof Craig Hassed.

Andrea Burns

Andrea Burns is an award-winning journalist with more than twenty-five years’ experience. She has worked in television commercial news and current affairs as a reporter and presenter for both the Seven and Ten networks. She’s been an opinion columnist for The West Australian Newspaper and has experience as a presenter and producer with both Radio 6pr and ABC Radio Perth. She is still a weekly contributor to Geoff Hutchison’s Drive programme, discussing news and current affairs. Andrea runs a successful boutique media consultancy, specialising in Media and Presentation training, as well as all aspects of effective communication. Andrea also teaches the next generation of journalists and broadcasters as the Course Coordinator of the highly-successful Post-Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting at Edith Cowan University. Andrea has Board experience in various sectors, having served on the boards of Telethon Speech and Hearing and The Women’s and Infants’ Research Foundation and Perth College Anglican School for Girls. She is the current Chair of Council of Perth College.  

Dr Lucy Kilshaw

Consultant Geriatrician, Royal Perth Hospital. MBCHB MRCP (UK) FRACP Dr Lucy Kilshaw is an experienced Consultant Geriatrician at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) . She recently stepped away from her Director of Post Graduate Medical Education role to pursue new projects. Lucy and her postgraduate team developed the successful Royal Perth Hospital Doctors Wellbeing Program, which saw the introduction of a full-time wellbeing officer dedicated to Junior Medical staff. In 2017 Lucy was the recipient of the Royal Perth Bentley Group Outstanding Service Award for her commitment to the teaching and wellbeing of junior medical staff at RPH. Lucy was nominated by her peers for her exemplary leadership and advocacy regarding junior doctors’ welfare, and her unwavering commitment to medical education at RPH. The Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils Australia and New Zealand Clinical Educator of the Year award was awarded to Lucy in 2018, the same year she received the Western Australian Clinical Educator of the Year award. These awards recognise clinical educators across Australia and New Zealand who have made a significant contribution to the education and training and mentoring of junior doctors. Known for her friendly, nurturing, and approachable nature, Lucy has had a significant role in contributing to mentoring and development of Junior Medical Officers at RPH as well as continuing to explore new and innovative ways to improve clinical outcomes through technology. Lucy has been part of the Cancer Council of WA Palliative and Supportive Care education team for several years. You may see her facilitating a new WA CSTAN grant funded Goals of Patient Care communication training workshop across WA in the next few years.

Dr Elysia Manley is a General Paediatrician who has worked in paediatrics for 15 years in varied settings including tertiary paediatric hospitals, regional and remote centres and abroad. She currently works as a General Paediatrician at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) and has an interest in Infectious Diseases and Medical Education. She is the Director of Advanced Training at PCH and a Senior Lecturer at Notre Dame University, teaching medical students.

Dr Jacqui-Lyn Saw

MBBS (Hons), University of Western Australia (2009); FRACP Neurology, Royal Australian college of Physicians (2018) Dr Jacqui-Lyn Saw is a clinician, with main clinical and research interests in neurophysiology and epilepsy. She completed neurology advanced training in Perth Western Australia, and was a Clinical Neurophysiology fellow at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minnesota (2017-2019). She is a Consultant Neurologist at Royal Perth and St John of God Midland Hospitals, in Perth, Western Australia, and an adjunct clinical senior lecturer ​for Curtin University medical school. Dr Saw provides clinical support for the RPH epilepsy service, including a first seizure and refractory epilepsy clinics. She is part of the comprehensive neurophysiology service, and is proficient in video EEG monitoring, EMG and spinal intra-operative neurophysiology monitoring.
