Effective medical leadership, management and innovation (hereafter termed medical leadership) is associated with improvements in health care delivery. High-quality and effective medical leadership leads to better patient outcomes and healthier communities. Leadership is about setting a direction and motivating others to embrace it. It is also about leading and helping others to lead, by actively supporting them.

As doctors, we all have a vital role to play in leadership and management. Learning leadership and management skills is often challenging whilst working towards our clinical goals of obtaining fellowship and this workshop seeks to provide you with tools to incorporate these skills into your practice.

Who is this Workshop for:

  • Current or aspiring leaders
  • Early to mid-career Fellows
  • Final year advanced trainees from the AMD

What you will walk away with:

  • Skills required to hold medical management roles, or ideas about how you can develop them further.
  • Skills for medical leadership, or an understanding of how you can develop them further.

We look forward to you joining us.

Warm regards,

                       President, Adult Medicine Division
